Turnor Lake RCMP officers assist in rescue effort

On January 18, 2018 at 7:25 p.m., RCMP Turnor Lake officers were dispatched to a report of a sudden death in a vehicle on an ice road on Frobisher Lake near Turnor Lake, Saskatchewan. Police gained the assistance of local guides in order to locate the vehicle.

Renovations complete at Dene Highschool in La Loche

Finance Minister Donna Harpauer joined Northern Lights School Division students, staff, families and community members today in La Loche to mark the completion of school renovations as the community continues to heal.

The renovations are in response to the tragic shooting that occurred at Dene High School in January 2016 and include the front entrance, staff and administration rooms, junior science room and the student lounge and adjacent washrooms.

Suspicious death investigation, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation

On January 13, 2019, at approximately 12:50 p.m., Blaine Lake RCMP responded to a report of an unresponsive adult female outside of her residence on the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation. EMS personnel were already present when officers arrived. The woman, 56 year-old Joanne Wolfe-Lafond, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
