RCMP Kamsack – Adult Male Presumed drowned

Late yesterday afternoon the RCMP was called to Pelican Point on Madge Lake for an adult male that was presumed drowned.

Three adults, a male and two females were on the water with five children in a boat and enjoying the day.   One of the children was playing in the water by the ladder of the boat and was pulled away from the boat by the wind and waves.  The adult male jumped into to assist the child and was also pulled away from the boat.  The two females tried to assist by throwing life jackets, but the wind prevented them from reaching the struggling male and child.  One of the females was able to jump into the water and the male pushed the child toward her and into her reach.  The male was then lost and did not resurface.
