Royal Saskatchewan Museum Ready To Reopen

The Royal Saskatchewan Museum (RSM) is ready to reopen its doors to the public on Sunday, May 30, 2021.  Public health guidelines remain in place at the museum and will be updated as changes are made by the provincial health authority.

“I am very pleased that the museum will once again be open to the public,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Laura Ross said.  “The museum staff have worked tirelessly to prepare for this reopening and to welcome back visitors to experience everything the Royal Saskatchewan Museum has to offer in the safest way possible.”

The CN T.rex Gallery – featuring Scotty, the world’s largest T.rex – along with all other galleries and the museum shop will now be open seven days a week, from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a maximum capacity of 30 people.

You are now able to book your visit with the new online reservation system on https://royalsaskmuseum.ca/visit/book-your-visit.  This online reservation system will allow visitors to pre-plan their visit and alleviate potential wait times.  Visitors can reserve an hour time slot for their immediate family.  The RSM is supported by donations and encourages you to donate online when booking your reservation.  Visitors are asked to arrive on time to ensure fairness for all visitors.

“We are excited to hear Scotty’s roar once again as visitors safely enjoy all the RSM has to offer,” Royal Saskatchewan Museum Director Peter Menzies said.  “As restrictions continue to be in place, we encourage visitors to use our new online reservation system to book their visit.”

Along with the new reservation system, the Royal Saskatchewan Museum website has been refreshed with a brand new look and layout and has been updated to reflect current offerings, background on the renowned scientists and research team and upcoming attractions.

Returning guests will notice work on the new exhibit, Home: Life in the Anthropocene is still underway with a planned unveiling in April, 2022.  Visitors are reminded to wear masks, pay attention to signage, use physical distancing markers and to stay home if experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
