Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit: Charges laid

The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit has charged a man from Regina with five child pornography offences in relation to three complaints it had received since July regarding the uploading of child pornography images and videos to a popular social media application.

 

Aaron Charles CAMPEAU, age 27, has been charged with the following:

  • Accessing child pornography – Sec. 163.1 (4.1) CC
  • Possession of child pornography – Sec. 163.1(4) CC
  • Transmitting child pornography – Sec. 163.1(3) CC

On October 9, 2019, members of the Saskatchewan ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Regina and found child pornography on electronic devices. Two computers, a tablet and two cellular phones were seized for further analysis. Aaron CAMPEAU was subsequently arrested and held in custody. He appeared in Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Regina on October 10 where he was released on numerous conditions and is to reappear on October 24, 2019, at 9:30 a.m.

 

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the Internet.
