Saskatchewan RCMP: Craven Country Thunder – Daily update

This will be the last official day of the 2019 Craven Country Thunder festival. This year’s event held true to it’s name with a significant thunderstorm rolling through the area last night. Saskatchewan RCMP were busy assisting the on site security and emergency services evacuate patrons from the concert bowl area and into shelter. The storm was short lived, however the area was hit with heavy rain, some hail and high winds, the RCMP were very appreciative of the public’s co-operation which made our efforts a bit easier moving people to safe areas.

Over the past 24 hours, RCMP have responded to a total of 46 calls for service which brings the weekend’s total to 123. RCMP were required to arrest and lodge 10 prisoners over the same time period bringing the total to 33. One impaired driver was located and arrested on the festival site, one minor assault was investigated as well as several cause disturbance and alcohol related incidents. Minor’s consuming liquor remain an issue on site. RCMP will again be patrolling and enforcing a zero tolerance to this issue.

The RCMP is recommending that anyone who is planning on attending Country Thunder today please consider using the SGI safe ride buses or other shuttle services. The grounds at Craven are very wet and parking is extremely limited.
