Wakaw
Partial solar eclipse as viewed from Wakaw
About 25 adults and children showed up during the eclipse viewing, sky was mostly clear so I managed to get a few dozen images of the eclipse. Those who attended were able to view the eclipse with proper solar eclipse glasses that I have, and view the eclipse through two telescopes. One telescope is equipped with a white light glass solar viewing filter, this shows beautiful images of the eclipse along with sunspots. The other telescope is a Lunt 50 Dedicated solar Hydrogen Alpha scope, with this telescope you can view the eclipse, sunspots but also view solar prominences, flares etc and see the ever changing features and texture of the sun. This scope provides a very unique experience in solar observing as you can watch the sun's features change before your eyes in real time.
Thank you to those who came out, I hope the experience was enjoyable and will encourage more of us to take a break to appreciate and enjoy the wonders of the universe and world we live in.
Thank you, Albert & Sandra Venne
