4 kgs of suspected cocaine located during traffic stop

On January 8, 2026, the Saskatchewan RCMP Roving Traffic Unit stopped a car traveling on Highway #16 near Maidstone for a vehicle equipment regulations violation. As a result of further police investigation, the adult female driver of the car was arrested. A search of the vehicle took place and RCMP officers located and seized approximately four kilograms of suspected cocaine.

41-year-old Leanne Harcourt from Edmonton, Alberta is charged with:

  • 1 count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act; and
  • 1 count, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking – section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

Harcourt is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on March 9, 2026.
