On Tuesday, March 5 at approximately 7:15 p.m., members of the Deschambault Lake RCMP located a vehicle, with two female occupants, heading to Deschambault Lake on Highway 911 just south of the Deschambault Lake village.

Through their investigation, members revealed seventeen (17) 66 oz bottles of whiskey, two (2) 40 oz bottles of vodka, a 26 oz bottle of Sour Puss and a four-pack of Smirnoff Ice in the vehicle.  The bottles were hidden within the vehicle at various locations to avoid detection.  The alcohol was subsequently seized by members.  The alcohol was suspected for resale within the community.

A short time later, a second vehicle stop was conducted. The investigation into the second vehicle stop revealed two female passengers were carrying four (4) 66 oz bottles of whiskey and a 26 oz bottle of vodka.

In total, four adult females were charged under Section 138, (unlawful keeping) of the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act and are to appear in court on April 3rd, 2019 in Deschambault Lake, SK.

The estimated street value of the alcohol if re-sold in the community of Deschambault Lake, would have been well over $3,000.

This seizure of illegal alcohol could not have been made possible without the cooperation of the citizens that are concerned with the welfare of their community.  The illegal transportation and sale of beverage alcohol within an area affects the health and stability of the community and it will take the cooperation of all community members to combat this dangerous and illegal practice.
