Daniel John Waldbillig passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the Rosthern Hospital at the age of 82 years. Danny was born on the family farm September 27, 1936. He was the 2 of 9 children born to Anton and Clara. Danny attended school at St. Aloysius School near the farm. He later attended St. Peter’s College for Grade 9, and after that he stayed home to help on the family farm. Loreen Medernach first met Danny when she was in grade 7 and told her father that she was going to marry that guy. She managed to finally reel him in in 1963. Danny and Loreen were married October 10, 1964 which was the same year that they bought the home quarter and moved onto the farm. They were blessed with 5 children and later 9 grandchildren. Danny spent a lot of time in the field while Loreen and the children were there in the truck hauling grain and bringing him supper. In turn, Danny would come home and help Loreen around the house with cleaning and the chores. They worked together to keep the farm and family going. Danny enjoyed his “Boh” and a bag of spitz on the warm lazy days at the lake. He also enjoyed many activities such as golfing, playing ball and playing cards with the neighbors on the farm. Later on in life, Danny and Loreen enjoyed going to the Casino’s, traveling to the U.S. and seeing the sites. Eventually, Danny quit farming and he and Loreen moved into Cudworth. Their last move was in 2018 when they moved into St. Michael’s Haven where they enjoyed watching the wildlife and doing many activities. Danny is survived by his loving wife Loreen, his children: Dawn (Ed Didur), Janet (Bill) Jackson, Calvin (Michelle), Bruce (Wendy) and Miles (Kimberly); 9 grandchildren; his seven siblings; as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
