16 February, 1932 – 2 October, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces Angeline Kirzinger passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at the age of 91, at the Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon, SK. She was born in Engelfeld, Saskatchewan as the third child of Mary Nordick and William ven der Buhs; wife to Arnold (deceased); mother to Raymond (Rita), Bernadette (Gerard), Beverley (Andrew), Gloria (Ronald) and Arthur (deceased); grandmother to Ryan (Heather), Kristin (Aron), Michael, Kara (Juan), Brian (Julie), Melissa (Gary), Shawn (Loree), Gregory (Janelle), Steven (Richann), Jillian (Anthony) and Zachery (Lexi); great-grandmother to Marie, Avery, Arnold, Eliana, Noah, Lydia, Samara, Otto, Emery, Chloe, Reese, Madilyn, Theodore, Brooks and Asher. Angeline was predeceased by siblings Elizabeth, Philomena, Raymond, Henry and Marie; surviving siblings William, Raymond, Bernard, and Gertrude.
Angeline worked as a nurse’s aid at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Cudworth, SK. While there, she met Arnold, the love of her life who she was married to for more than 59 years, until his passing in 2013. Nothing brought a greater spark to her eyes than Arnold. He was her sweetheart, her partner in everything, and the father of her children. They were best friends who inspired each other, and they found tremendous joy in just being together.
Angeline worked alongside Arnold on the family farm in the Cudworth area until 1984 when she began work as a special care aid at the Cudworth Nursing Home until her retirement in 1997. Angeline was a dedicated member of the Catholic Women’s League for 60 years. She lived in Cudworth until she and Arnold moved to Saskatoon in 2011 to reside at Bethany Manor.
Angeline was an accomplished painter of over 50 years. During the COVID pandemic, she produced a 13 piece collection that was on display at Bethany Manor at the time of her passing. Her love of nature and prairie landscapes were reflected in her paintings as were the flowers she grew as an avid gardener. She loved creating her pieces, but the most rewarding aspect for her was bringing joy to others through her paintings. Angeline was very involved in the Bethany Manor community and had a network of friends there who will miss her greatly.
Angeline’s greatest gift was the impact she made on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an example of living life with dignity, courage, and strength. Her life reflected looking to the future with a peaceful and hopeful heart. She saw beauty in the world and delighted all with her spirit, her loving laughter and her strong hugs. Her enormous, loving heart will be missed by all who knew her.
The funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Parish in Saskatoon, SK.
