Charge laid in suspicious death on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation

As a result of continued investigation by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, in conjunction with multiple RCMP investigative support teams and Regina Police Service, a teen from Regina, Sk. has been arrested and charged with one count, manslaughter, section 236(a) of the Criminal Code, in relation to the death of 31-year-old Drew Jack of Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.

The youth cannot be identified as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They will appear in Regina Provincial Court (youth) at 9:30 a.m. March 24.

Clarification: The initial call for service to File Hills Police Service was a report of a medical emergency, not a sudden death as previously reported. The victim died in hospital. Further investigation determined the death was suspicious in nature and Saskatchewan RCMP was notified.
