The Water Security Agency (WSA) reminds farmers and landowners considering drainage projects, you have a until the end of January to apply for cost-shared funding to support project design as part of the Agricultural Water Management Fund.
“This fund has been critical in helping farmers advance responsible and well-planned agricultural water management projects,” Minister Responsible for the WSA Dave Marit said. “The program has been focused on balancing environmental stewardship with agricultural growth.”
Applicants can receive up to $25,000 for Qualified Person support for agricultural water management projects. Qualified Persons help to advance projects, including preparing drainage applications, assisting with project planning and acting as a liaison between landowners.
Eligible recipients include:
-Individuals or corporations registered in Saskatchewan who own, lease, or rent property for agricultural production purposes
-First Nations in Saskatchewan
-Saskatchewan rural municipalities
-Conservation & Development Area Authorities
-Watershed Association Boards
-Irrigation Districts
