Jean Boyko

Jean was born in 1931 to parents Walter & Nellie Jinjoe in Henribourg Sk.  The family later moved to Prairie River, where Jean attended school and worked hard on the family farm. Jean married Philip Boyko in 1950 and together farmed in the Porcupine Plain area and raised their 5 children.  Later in 1969 the family moved closer to the town of Porcupine Plain and with hard work together, they setup another yard site.

Jean took great pride in her apple orchard and was well known for her apple pies.  She was active with the farmers market for 35 years.   She loved to cook, bake, sew, knit, crochet, canning and gardening along with many crafts.  She was also a caregiver for many years.

Jean came to know, love and serve Jehovah God and would tell others of what God’s Kingdom will bring to the earth for mankind and the hope of the resurrection.  

Jean was able to travel to Toronto, Victoria, B.C. , New York, Cook Islands, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and also enjoyed an Alaskan boat cruise.  She moved to Wakaw Sk. in 2009.  

Jean loved her children and gave generously to them and she will be greatly missed by them all. She is survived by her children Wilfred (Carol), Edward (Loretta), Richard (Leila), Margaret (Ron), and Gordon ( Darlene).   She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother.  She was predeceased by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and her husband Philip (1998).
