On January 8, 2025, Melfort RCMP received a report of a fraudulent payment made at a business in Kinistino, SK.
Investigation determined an unknown male presented himself as an employee of a construction company and purchased a large number of tools from the business. The credit cards the male used for the purchase were determined to be previously stolen and the payments were later rejected. As a result of investigation, officers determined the construction company is not a real company operating in Saskatchewan; this was a scam.
The male who picked up the tools was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. He drove away in a small, dark coloured SUV. Investigators would like to speak to the male and are asking members of the public for assistance in identifying him. Photos of the male and the SUV are attached.
Investigators ask anyone with information about this incident to contact them by dialling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
Melfort RCMP continue to investigate.
