On Sunday April 03 2022, Patricia Anne (Pat) Kraus passed away peacefully. Pat leaves to mourn her husband Herman Kraus, Daughter Ramona Clews (Garnet) 2 grandsons, Andrew Clews (Karmen), Mitchell Clews (Haley) 3 greatgrandchildren (Rohan, Viola and Tia). She also leaves to mourn Herman’s children, Cheryl Hedlin (Matthew), Bruce Kraus (Colleen), Daryl Kraus, Michelle Pexa (Fred) and Kim Kraus, and their children and grandchildren, as well as 2 brothers Harvey (Mary) and George (Marilyn).

A Private Family celebration of Pat’s life will be held on May 7, 2022,  at The Chapel of Kushneryk Funeral Service in Wakaw Sask.

Pat was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Annie, brothers John, Leonard and Mike.

Pat earned her nursing certificate from the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul in Moose Jaw in 1964. She was highly motivated, and went back to school to earn her Registered Nurse degree from the University of Saskatchewan. She advanced her education further by achieving her Masters of Continuing Education in 1985.

Her nursing career spanned decades, working as a Matron in Bengough Hospital , a surgical nurse, the Federal Government, James Smith Cree Band and the Humboldt Nursing home. Pat also served in the Canadian Forces Reserves achieving the rank of Captain (Matron). Pat finally chose to retire only after she required 2 hip replacements and could no longer be on her feet for a full shift, but even that did not keep her from providing care to others. She contracted to provide assessments for Canadian Veterans who required care.

Patricia loved to garden and to care for those who could not care for themselves. She loved concerts and dinners with her friends. She also made the trip every year after Christmas to spoil her Grandchildren for a few days. We have fond memories of wandering the West Edmonton Mall with her.

In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to your favourite charity.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kushneryk’s Funeral Service at 1-306-233-4403.
