Denis Louis Bantle

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Denis Louis Bantle on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. Denis was born in Cudworth, SK on February 16, 1930 to Catherine (Neis) and Leo Bantle. Denis and his wife, Regina ran an automotive service station for 63 years. Dad was an exceptional mechanic who loved the outdoors, going for Sunday drives, garlic sausage roasts and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Denis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Regina (nee Kirzinger), his 5 children, Myles (Christopher, Amy), Gwendolyn & Gord Zakreski (Brad & Charnelle, Rylan & Megan), Jacqueline, Jeannine & George Douville (Patrick, Brittney) & Jason, great-granddaughter Natalisha Zakreski, sisters-in-law Beryl Bantle, Betty Bantle, Rosemarie Kirzinger, Erna Kirzinger, brother-in-law Ralph Pauli, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Patrick Viol (in infancy), his parents Catherine & Leo, his brothers & sisters Mary, Helen, Walter (Marion), Richard & Ted, brothers and sisters-in-law Mary & Mike Kolla, Ted & Florence Kirzinger, Dina & Joe Kolla, Joe Kirzinger, Wilfred & Agnes Kirzinger, Roman & Lorraine Kirzinger, Alphonse Kirzinger, Leona & Doug Hall, Ed Kirzinger, Rene Pauli & several nieces and nephews. The Vigil for Denis was held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 31. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1 with Rev. Fr. Colin Roy as the celebrant. Both services were held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Cudworth, SK. The Rite of Committal took place following the service at St. Michael’s Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael’s Haven, Box 220, Cudworth, SK S0K 1B0. The family wishes to thank all the staff at St. Paul’s Hospital Emergency Department and the Coronary Care Unit at RUH for their excellent care of Dad during his last week. Special thanks to Fr.
