Gerald Elmer Markowsky passed away peacefully at the Lakeview Pioneer Lodge in Wakaw on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the age of 81 years. Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Donna (Petch), Son: Shaun and his wife Chauna and grandsons Max and Ivan. Gerald was predeceased by his parents Peter and Anna Markowsky, brothers Orest and David, twin daughters Ruth and Rhonda and son Kevin. Gerald took his schooling in Bellevue and Wakaw. Upon finishing grade 12 he began farming with his brothers northwest of Wakaw. Years later he continued farming with his sons. As he got older he enjoyed helping whenever and wherever he could. He was always eager to go on a parts run. Gerald always taught his boys to never be afraid to tackle different projects building, renovating or welding in the shop. He also enjoyed the hard work and association during such projects. After a diligent study of the Bible he dedicated his life to Jehovah. He valued the principles and the promises of the Bible and instilled them in his family. Gerald enjoyed nature and he always cherished time at the lake with family and friends, even enjoying a spirited ride on the snowmobile into his 70’s. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. The Funeral Service was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Wakaw, SK, on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Grant McMillan officiating. Interment of the Urn took place at the Cemetery for Jehovah’s Witnesses at Sokol, SK. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Marc Blondeau of Kushneryk Funeral Service, Wakaw, SK, 306-233-4403.
